Mont Blanc and Similar Looking Quartzite
Regarding these lighter quartzites, this material is more like a sandstone, meaning it tends to absorb and retain water quite significantly. Typically, a natural stone project can be expected to seal the stone 1-2 times by the time the project is fully installed. However, with the Mont Blanc material (and the lighter quartzites that look like this), it is recommended that the fabricator ensures that the material is dry, then seals it several times before fabrication, then a few times again post-fabrication, and then again post-install. You will expect to seal this material at least twice a year. We recommend asking whoever is showing you this material if there are any special notes about the material for the fabricator or for you as the homeowner.
Also, the fabrication time for material like this is typically longer since we are at the mercy of the material.
Typically, with this material, it takes about a month from template to installation.
